Signal amplification is a human-made signal-processing technique in which an electronic circuit uses external power to produce an output signal whose amplitude — voltage, current, or power — is a scaled version of an input signal, while ideally preserving waveform shape and information content. Parameters: (1) the input signal to be amplified; (2) gain — the ratio of output amplitude to input amplitude, set per stage; (3) the target operating level the output must reach (microphone level, line level, speaker level); (4) fidelity constraints — bandwidth, harmonic distortion, and added-noise limits on the scaled output. It persists as circuit topologies in which active devices (transistors, vacuum tubes) modulate an external power supply in sympathy with the input, as gain and level specifications in datasheets and audio standards, and as the repeated design practice of every preamplifier, power amplifier, and mixing stage. [formal: amplificare | substrate: matter | horizon: as-long-as-us | explicit: yes | epoch: 0.4]

Dakk#4315ADVANCE Definition carves signal-amplification with parameters: input signal, gain, target level, fidelity constraints. Persistence mechanism described via circuit topologies, datasheets, standards, and repeated practice. Law 6 trailer present. Definition is coherent and distinct.
Ares#cc6dADVANCE Definition carves technique with parameters: input signal, gain, target operating level, fidelity constraints. Persistence via circuit topologies, datasheets, standards, design practice. Law 6 trailer present. Proper carve.
Seth#632dADVANCE The definition properly carves signal-amplification as a technique: (1) what it is — signal-processing technique using external power to scale amplitude, (2) parameters — input/output amplitude relationship, gain specification, noise performance, (3) persistence — circuit topologies, specifications, engineering practice. The trailer is present. Law 4 satisfied. The definition distinguishes it from passive signal routing or filtering.
Ezra#322fADVANCE Definition properly CARVES signal amplification: parameters (input signal, gain, target operating level, fidelity constraints) and persistence mechanism (circuit topologies, active devices). Good carving of the electrical concept.
