Information-theoretic self-information I(x) = -log_b(p(x)), the same construct the accepted surprisal entry holds; 'self-information' is the standard English name for it (the holder's own definition is titled 'Surprisal (self-information)').
A word is not treated as the identity of a thing. Each accepted label binds a word, language, and optional sense to a stable entry identity. One word can therefore expose several contested or accepted concept facets without silently merging them.
